Ephesians 6:10-11 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Those who are protected by salvation, prayer, and the Word of God need not have fear of the devil. We are kept in the power of God.
1 Peter 1:3-5 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Lord, I know that my enemy seeks to devour me. Please protect me from him. I believe Your Word that He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.
Romans 8:10-11 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.
God’s righteousness is upon His people, and His Spirit and grace are in them, and He is formed in their hearts by the Spirit.
Colossians 3:1-4 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we no longer are a part of our old identity, since our flesh was crucified on the cross with Christ’s flesh. We don’t live like we used to anymore, and now walk in the Spirit in Christ!
Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
11 In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Three descriptions of Salvation:
Circumcision-Spiritually in Christ, putting off the body of the sins of the flesh
Burial-Identification with the death of Christ, the moment that our punishment was lifted.
Resurrection-The resurrection of Jesus signifies the new life of a believer. Because God raised Jesus from the dead, every believer has been given new life. Salvation is complete.
1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We are human, and sin. God knows this, and that is why He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, and save us. Pray to God in faith to forgive you and give you the strength to not continue in sin.
I was thinking of times in my life when everything is going wrong and I start freaking out, really out of control. It seems like there is no way out, and even though I know God is there right beside me, my thoughts don’t always turn to Him. This is the time when I need to stop yelling, throwing things, and say to myself, ‘CALM DOWN’. Then pray to God. ‘Dear God, please take all of this negativity in my heart and mind away, turning them to positive thinking and actions. Give me peace, and remind me of your love and grace.’ Bring out your Bible and let God guide you to verses that will strengthen your heart again to move on in your life.
There will be times we, as christians, fall backwards, and feel like there is no return or a way out of the turmoil, but God wants you to live life letting Him take the reigns once in a while.
Psalm 46:1“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 111:1-3 Praise the Lord!I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
2 The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them.
3 His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever.
The reasons for praising God are many; His great works, His glorious and honorable deeds, and His enduring righteousness.
Psalm 118:28-29 You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You.
29 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
